Thank you to Charlene Jones for facilitating the discussion, bringing the video and TV, and the materials for our creations. Charlene does a great job of leading the discussion and bringing materials for us to work with. Remember: these events are free and open to all.  Our attendance has grown from the last quarter and we hope to see it increasing for the next quarter. Come join in the fun for the next scheduled discussion which will be held on May 16th. Details will be listed in next months’ newsletter.

Conrath Art Exhibit:

"Yellowstone after the Fire" by Ted Conrath

The Art Association sponsored an exhibit of the works of well know artist, Ted Conrath, in the conference room at the gallery from October 15th to November 15th, 2008.

Conrath was born and raised in Hebron, ND to a family of artists which included his grandfather, his mother, Ann and his sister, Caroline.  Caroline is a charter member of the MAA and is still actively involved as an artist.

Ted Conrath moved to New York where he pursued a very successful career in art.  His works were shown in several galleries in and around New York. Ted and his wife, Francis, also taught art in the New York public schools for many years.  His inspiration for many of his works came from the many trips he and his wife would take to North Dakota.  Upon his death in 1995 his sister Caroline received many of his art works which will be included in the MAA Gallery exhibit.
